What is the study about?

The ALFI Project (Associations Between Low Field Imaging, Cognition, Lifestyle And Wellbeing) is an innovative research study exploring how portable, low-field MRI technology can be used to better understand brain health across diverse communities.

What is involved?

This project uses a new, quieter and more comfortable type of low-field MRI scanner - small enough to be used outside of hospitals and ideal for local community settings. We want to understand how this new technology could make brain research more accessible for everyone.

By joining the project, you will:

  • Complete short online tests and questionnaires on sleep, mood and activity

  • Share your experience to help shape the future of community brain research

Participation takes approximately 2-3 hours total and is flexible to fit your schedule.

The project will be taking place at Canterbury Christ Church University and the project will run from August 2024 to August 2026.

Who can participate?

We’re inviting adults of all ages to take part in a new research study exploring how brain imaging, lifestyle, and mental wellbeing are connected. No previous experience or medical condition is required. You just need to be over 18 and able to consent.
