Dr Wesley Pyke

Dr Wesley Pyke is a Research Fellow at Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS), a Lecturer in the School of Psychology at The University of Kent and Research Lead at the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy (PCIT). He completed a BSc in Psychology, an MRes in Cognitive Neuroscience, and a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience.

At KMMS, Wesley contributes to translational research on neurological conditions, with a focus on novel imaging and stimulation approaches. He is part of the team developing research applications of the new ultra-low field MRI scanner, investigating its diagnostic potential in dementia, psychosis, and neurorehabilitation. At PCIT, he leads research into non-pharmacological therapies for Parkinson’s and stroke, embedding scientific evidence into holistic care and clinical practice. Wesley has also received funding from the Medical Research Council (£20,000) and University of Kent (£2,500) to develop and test innovative interventions supporting patients with neurological and vestibular disorders.

Wesley’s broader research interests include non-pharmacological interventions for neurological conditions, cognitive enhancement, memory retention, multimodal neuroimaging approaches and development of novel clinical assessment tools and patient-centred interventions.
