Tracy Collier

Tracy Collier is a clinical nurse consultant at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. Her research focuses on new forms of treatment in patients diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, looking at either new behavioural therapies, or new treatments to reduce negative symptoms or sub-optimal positive symptoms. She facilitates the recruitment of new patients into studies by liaising with community teams and conducting presentations to ensure smooth understanding of the research protocols between the clinical and research staff. Many research studies involve MRI/PET imaging to gain greater understanding of the illness and to look at better care for the patient. Some of these studies also work alongside commercial drug companies to help improve better forms of treatment with fewer side effects.
