Madeleine Oakley
Madeleine Oakley previously ran the MSc FamilyTherapy and MSc Mental Health Studies Programmes, both at the IoPPN. She is a UKCP registered psychotherapist since 1993, having trained in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy initially, followed by Family Systemic Therapy at the IoPPN in 1994-95. Her clinical experience has been in the NHS, working with children & families, in adolescent eating disorders at the Maudsley Hospital, the voluntary sector, working as a clinical supervisor of counsellors in the field of bereavement, and in infertility counselling at the University College Hospital.
A family carer herself, since 2019 Madeleine has been conducting peer developed support and psychoeducation interventions for family carers of people with autism and other concurrent conditions such as eating disorders and psychosis.
