Joel Petch
Joel is a Senior Lecturer and the Academic Lead for Year 2 of the BMBS programme, where he leads on neuroscience within the early years of medical education. Joel is a graduate of King’s College London, where he studied neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience. Joel is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Academy of Medical Educators. In addition to these roles, Joel is an External Examiner for the BMedSci programme at the University of Nottingham School of Medicine.
Joel's PhD is exploring the impact of misaligned circadian physiology upon cognitive processes and brain structure; as well as exploring the relationship of these areas to psychosis. This project employs neuroimaging with a portable ultra-low-field magnetic resonance imaging (ULF-MRI) device.
