Dr Richard Brown

Richard is a Kent local and trained at St George’s Hospital Medical School in London. He undertook an intercalated degree in Sociology Applied to Medicine. After he finished his medical rotation at William Harvey Hospital, he then trained as a psychiatrist in Kent and at King’s College Hospital, going on to higher training at the Maudsley Hospital. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Royal College of Psychiatrists. He has been a consultant old age psychiatrist in Kent since 2011.

Richard was the lead for the county specialist dementia continuing care wards and the older people’s services in Canterbury. He has led service development and quality improvement projects centred around dementia care and diagnostic services. He has worked with KMMS in his role as Director of Undergraduate Medical Education at Kent and Medway Partnership Trust since the medical school was first being established.
